The interrogation of the American owner of Global TV Company lasted until 10 p.m. yesterday at the Tbilisi International Airport. Alexander Ronzhes was interrogated by the officers of the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Finance with the status of a witness. Reportedly, he planned to fly to the United States via Turkey. The investigation department had several questions regarding the financial transactions carried out under his supervision by the company. - "Rustavi2"

The official statement of the department says that the investigation is underway regarding the `possible facts of legalization of illegal incomes`. According to the information of the department, Ronzhes purchased real estate paying 180,000 GEL for it in 2004, which was afterwards sold to Leasing 21 Company for 3,100,000 GEL on June 8, 2012 and the greatest part of the cash was withdrawn from the bank, which caused suspicions. As Ronzhes did not declare the cash he was going to carry with him while crossing Georgia`s border, the investigation considered it reasonable to interrogate him as a witness.

Lawyers of the company owner and other share-holders of the company were also in the Tbilisi airport until the interrogation was over.
