The Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) continues registration of political parties for the 2012 parliamentary elections to be held on October 1 in Georgia. - "1TV"

A total of 40 parties have submitted application to the CEC. The Commission has registered 17 of them as yet.

Those electoral entities, which have representatives in the parliament, have the deadline till today at 18:00. The deadline for submission of Majoritarian (single mandate) MP candidates and party lists is September 1.

The deadline for registration of initiative groups is 6PM on August 5. The group should be staffed by 5 members.

Registration of Majoritarian MP Candidates will begin from August 6 till August 12. The candidates must present drug test results and voters’ lists to the electoral constituency.

Regional municipalities and city councils should publish the list of those buildings where posting of promotional posters is prohibited. This refers to state institutions, police and cultural buildings.
