Event dedicated to the European Days of Jewish Culture will take place in Tbilisi tomorrow

The event dedicated to the European Days of Jewish Culture will be take place in the big hall of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia on September 5. The event organized by "Israeli House", in cooperation with AEPJ – European Association of Jewish Culture and Heritage Preservation will be attended by Mr. Hilik Bar, the Deputy Speaker of the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) and the Head of Israel-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Mrs. Tamar Chugoshvili, the First Deputy Chairperson of the Georgian Parliament and the Head of Georgia-Israel Parliamentary Friendship Group, Mr. Giorgi Chogovadze, Head of National Tourism Administration of Georgia, Mr. Shabtai Tsur, Ambassador of Israel to Georgia and Mr. Christian Urse, Head of Council of Europe Office in Georgia.

The event will be led by Mr. Itsik Moshe, Head of "Israeli House".

Various events are dedicated to the Days of Jewish Culture in European countries on September 5, annually. They are celebrated for the second time in Georgia this year.

Georgia became a member state of the EU cultural route this year. Upon the recommendation of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, "Israeli House" leads the European Route of the Jewish Heritage in Georgia. "Israeli House" was duly mandated at the Forum held under the auspices of the European Council in Luxembourg in March 2017.

Presentation of the European Route of the Jewish Heritage in Georgia organized by "Israeli House" is planned at the event. "Israeli House" will also introduce the initiative regarding opening the permanent corner of Hebrew books in the National Parliamentary Library of the Georgia with the financial support of Sarah Foundation operating in Israel.

The event dedicated to the European Days of Jewish Culture will cover a variety of topics. The speakers will address representation of Israel abroad (Hasbara) and direct relations with the friendly states (Mr. Hilik Bar), importance of the European Route of the Jewish Heritage (Mrs. Tamar Chugoshvili, Mr. Giorgi Chogovadze, Mr. Istik Moshe), the European Days of Jewish Culture (Mr. Christian Urse), importance of the Jewish Heritage in Georgia for Israel (Mr. Shabtai Tsur), summary of the Forum of "Israeli House" held in Jerusalem (Mr. Itsik Moshe).

The event dedicated to the European Days of Jewish Culture will take place in the big hall of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia (7, Gudiashvili Street, Building 3) on September 5, at 6.00 pm.
