I encourage the TV companies, to start paying their current debts today, and we are waiting for their suggestions about the old ones – Ivane Matchavariani

I want to encourage the TV channels to come to us as soon as possible, within 1 or 2 weeks, and make their suggestions: how they envision the restructuration of their paying schedule. There are different models of distributing the burden of the debt within the business and partially mitigating the terms, - says the minister of finance – Mikheil Matchavariani.

The minister encouraged the TV stations to start paying their current debts today.

“To speak about solutions, TV companies will have hard time covering them immediately, and it is possible for them to face the danger of not existing anymore. This does not serve anybody’s interests. Therefore, I, on a behalf of the ministry of finance and the revenue service, want to encourage the TV channels to come to us as soon as possible, within 1 or 2 weeks, and make their suggestions: how they envision the restructuration of their paying schedule. There are different models of distributing the burden of the debt within the business and partially mitigating the terms.

Also, everybody must pay their current debts and stop allocating the new ones. I understand, that this is a very sensitive sector, however, this is a regular business sector and by no means is it privileged compared to other business sectors. Therefore, as soon as possible, we should be able to see, that the payer has started covering ongoing debts and is not allocating the new ones”, - noted the minister of finance.
