The wind speed intensifies in Borjomi Gorge. Fire has again broken out at the burnt slopes near Daba village of Borjomi Gorge. The wind flared the flames, as reported by Emergency Situations Department. Helicopters will extinguish the fire on the slopes. The place is difficult to access. –announces 1tv.ge

Reports say no other places are re-hit by the fire. There is dense smoke above Tsagveri resort. Emergency headquarters continues working in special regime. Seventy-six hours passed after break out of the wildfire in Borjomi Gorge.

The spread areal of wildfire has been reduced in Borjomi Gorge, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili reported after the sitting held at emergency headquarters established in Daba village of the disaster region.

The aviation is mobilized at several strong destinations of the fire in Tsagveri and Timotesubani. Seven helicopters and one Turkish firefighting plane are involved in fire-extinguishing works. Thousands of fire-fighters, rescuers and employees of National Forestry Department and Emergency Situations Department are working at the disaster scenes. Heavy vehicles are present at the territory.

Investigation will determine exact causes of the fire. A 20-litre canister full of petrol has been found in Borjomi forest this afternoon. The eyewitness has already been questioned. Giorgi Mghebrishvili, Minister of Internal Affairs does not exclude that the fire broke out artificially.
