    The European Court of Human Rights has registered Mzia Amaglobeli's third complaint - GYLA

    The European Court of Human Rights has registered Mzia Amaglobeli's third complaint regarding ill-treatment, the Georgian Young Lawyers' Association (GYLA) reports.

    “The above-mentioned complaint concerns the ill-treatment of Mzia Amaglobeli on January 12, 2025 and the ineffective investigation of this case. GYLA argues that the fundamental rights provided for by the Convention were violated against Mzia Amaglobeli: the prohibition of torture, inhuman and degrading treatment and the obligation to conduct an effective investigation in this regard; the prohibition of discrimination; the right to privacy; the right to an effective remedy.

    The aforementioned complaint was sent on March 4, 2026 and the European Court registered the case within 1 week, on March 11, 2026. The organization was notified of the registration on April 1.

    We would like to remind the public that GYLA has appealed 2 more cases against Mzia Amaglobeli in the Strasbourg Court: the first case concerns Mzia Amaglobeli "The illegal use of detention as a preventive measure, where GYLA has already submitted a written response to the state's position, and the complaint in the second case, which is related to the administrative detention of Mzia Amaglobeli and related violations, has also been registered," the information states.
