The Freedom Square Party is issuing a statement regarding the statement of EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pavel Herchinsky.

This was not a threat. It was a reminder, rooted in our own history, of what is at stake when democratic institutions are weakened, political violence is normalized, and the country is isolated from the democratic community.

The European Union has consistently stood with the Georgian people in support of democracy, the rule of law, and a European future. It has supported the people of this country, not any party.

Attempts by Georgian Dream to portray this as hostility toward the Georgian people are not only misleading—they are dangerous. They seek to shift responsibility away from those who are eroding democratic norms and polarizing society.

Freedom Square stands firmly with Georgia’s European path. We reject the politics of distortion and confrontation. And we affirm a simple truth: defending democracy and preventing violence is not interference—it is partnership.
