Donald Trump leaves for China on state visit
US President Donald Trump has left for China on a two-day state visit.
As part of the visit, the US President will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump is accompanied by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant, as well as Jensen Huang, CEO of the American technology company Nvidia, and billionaire and owner of the platform X Elon Musk.
As Trump wrote on social media while on board Air Force One, his first request to Chinese President Xi Jinping will be to “open up” China to American businesses.
“I ask President Xi Jinping, an outstanding leader, to “open up” China so that these brilliant people can fully realize their potential and help the People’s Republic of China develop to an even higher level. "I have never seen or heard of an idea that would be more beneficial to our incredible countries!" Trump wrote.
