    The National Food Agency fined Libre for the presence of a cat in the food area and the sale of expired food

    The National Food Agency fined Libre for violations. In particular, as stated in the information released by the National Food Agency, the National Food Agency, based on information spread on social networks regarding the presence of a cat in the food area, conducted an unscheduled inspection of Libre. As a result, the facility was found to have repeated critical non-conformities, as well as the sale of expired food, which led to the suspension of a specific production process and the sealing of the expired food.

    "The National Food Agency, based on information spread on social networks (the presence of an animal, a cat in the food area), carried out state control (unscheduled inspection) at JSC "Nikora Trade" ("Libre", business registration number 206255808, address: Tbilisi, Rustavi Highway 19). During the inspection, the fact of repeated critical non-conformities was observed at the facility, as well as the sale of expired food, due to which the business operator was fined 5,000 GEL and the specific production process was suspended. The expired food was sealed and will be destroyed under the supervision of the National Food Agency.

    The agency urges consumers to pay attention to the label, storage and sale conditions of food when purchasing food, and in case of any violation, to notify the hotline of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture - 1501. "No message will remain without response," the released information states.
