Police arrest two people in Tbilisi on drug charges, seize large amount of drugs

Officers of the Old Tbilisi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested two people on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of a large amount of drugs, one of whom is a person with a previous conviction. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

According to the department, the investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 260-quarta of the Criminal Code, which provide for imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years.

“As a result of a search of the personal and residential homes of the accused by law enforcement officers, a large amount of dried “marijuana” prepared for sale, packaged in 80 packages, was seized as evidence.

"As a result of the investigative actions carried out, the police also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotics," the information released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs says.
