    Venerable Theodore the Sanctifier (368); Hieromartyr Alexander, Bishop of Jerusalem (213-250); Martyrs: Vitius, Modestus and Crescentius (c. 303); Blessed Virgin Mary Musa (V); Venerable Fathers, who lived in the Lavra of St. Saba (614); George II, Bishop of Mytilene (IX).

    Venerable Theodore was originally from Egypt. His parents were distinguished and wealthy Christians. He very early developed a desire for monastic life. He was 14 years old when he secretly left his native home and went to one of the monasteries.

    Archbishop George II was Bishop of Mytilene in 820-829. At that time, the iconoclastic heresy was raging. He died in 842. In the 12th century, his holy relics were seen by the Russian abbot Daniel, who was traveling to the East to venerate the holy places.
