It is regrettable that the issue of visa liberalization is being used for blackmail - Irakli Kobakhidze

We are open to dialogue in all directions, including on the topics that were discussed in Brussels, specifically regarding visas, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told Georgian journalists in Bishkek.

As the head of government noted, it is regrettable that the issue of visa liberalization is being used for blackmail.

"Our answers are very clear, very clear. Everything else is politics. We hope that, ultimately, the approaches will change in the European bureaucracy, a fair approach will be formed towards the Georgian people, our state, our country. We have answers to all questions and are absolutely open to dialogue.

It is really unfortunate that the issue of visa liberalization is being used for blackmail. At one time, we actually blocked all avenues for blackmail, the only theoretical tool left is visa liberalization, and specific forces are trying to use this tool for blackmail against the Georgian people and our state. This is the wrong approach. We want a fair approach and we are talking to our European partners with this message," the Prime Minister said.
