    Police seize 76 additional so-called miners in Mestia, bringing the total to 330 so-called miners

    Officers of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia seized an additional 76 so-called miners as evidence during searches conducted in the Mestia municipality.

    According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a total of 330 so-called miners have been seized by law enforcement officers as part of an investigation into violations of energy use rules.

    "The investigation establishes that through the use of these devices, locals systematically generated digital currency and received illegal income through illegal and unlawful consumption of large amounts of electricity.

    Law enforcement officers continue intensive investigative actions to identify other persons involved in the crime and take appropriate legal measures against them.

    The investigation is underway under Article 229, Part 2, Subparagraph "b" of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 3 years," the MIA information states.
