This is not the first time that the police have been discredited, this is from Ackerman's textbook and they are acting accordingly - Kakha Kaladze

According to the mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, while the state has prevented crime, holding a protest rally is an attempt to discredit the police. He spoke about this with the media.

According to him, state agencies responded immediately to a specific fact of violence by police officers, which was also reported by one of the media outlets, and the investigation will determine the rest.

“This is not the first time that the police have been discredited. This is from Ackerman’s textbook and they are acting according to it. They don’t realize that these methods have become outdated and everything is deciphered. When a specific crime occurs, there is always a reaction from the state and this will continue in the future. Of course, it was very difficult to see these footage. What is important is that there was an immediate reaction from the state and all the criminals were arrested. There are about 40,000 police officers in the department. There is a law – whoever commits a crime, no matter what position they hold, will be subject to a reaction,” the Tbilisi Mayor noted.

As for the journalist’s question about whether the detainees should be charged with a crime or not, Kakha Kaladze said:

“I am not a prosecutor, if you ask me this question. There is a relevant agency that will answer this question more competently. You can contact it and you will receive an answer. I can only say that crime must be prevented and responded to.”
