European Parliament resolutions and statements are no longer worth a single eurocent - Archil Gorduladze
According to Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, the resolutions and statements adopted by the European Parliament and the European Union no longer have practical significance and their purpose is to cause public unrest in Georgia.
According to him, the abundance of such documents indicates that they do not have effective mechanisms and are being used as an instrument of political pressure.
According to Gorduladze, the purpose of the aforementioned statements is to create tension in society in order to try to establish "external governance". According to him, attempts to change the government and implement revolutionary scenarios have repeatedly ended in failure.
The chairman of the committee also criticized the content of the resolution adopted by the European Parliament and stated that the approaches reflected in it historically characterized totalitarian regimes. According to him, the authors of the document do not have an objective idea of the current political and social situation in Georgia and their goal is to influence the internal affairs of the country.
Gorduladze directed particular criticism at the author of the resolution, Rasa Juknevicienė, and stated that her statements insulted the supporters of the “Georgian Dream”. According to his assessment, the spirit of the resolution creates division among citizens and contradicts the principles of equality and human rights.
According to Archil Gorduladze, the European Union “is facing a civilizational gap” and it is necessary for “real Europe and Europeanness” to be strengthened again throughout the European Union.
