As a result of police operations, officers of the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs discovered a makeshift drug laboratory and arrested two citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan on charges of drug crimes. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

According to the agency, the investigation is underway under Articles 266 and 260 of the Criminal Code, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.

"The investigation establishes that the defendants were preparing narcotics in a so-called laboratory set up in a temporary residence for the purpose of further sale, using various chemical agents and precursors. The evidence obtained in the criminal case also confirms that the defendants were selling homemade narcotics using various methods. During a search of the detainees' personal and temporary residence, the police seized a particularly large amount of various narcotics weighing up to 20 kilograms as evidence. As a result of the investigative actions, materials necessary for the homemade manufacture and packaging of narcotics were also seized," the MIA statement says.
