Founders of Kinderly Georgia LLC sentenced to 10 years in prison
The Tbilisi City Court fully accepted the evidence presented by the Prosecutor's Office and sentenced the founders of Kinderly Georgia LLC to 10 years in prison for the fact of the group's embezzlement of large amounts of money by prior agreement, using their official position. The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has released information about this.
“The evidence examined during the trial confirmed that the defendants established Kinderly Georgia LLC, an intermediary company between biological parents and surrogate mothers in Tbilisi. On behalf of the company, they signed contracts with biological parents and undertook to find surrogate mothers and ensure the birth of a child through in vitro fertilization. In this way, the defendants embezzled large amounts of money from citizens of the Republic of China and, instead of covering the surrogate mothers' various expenses and the remuneration provided for in the contract, they collectively appropriated more than 2,060,006.5 GEL belonging to both potential parents and surrogate mothers, using their official positions. The Tbilisi City Court found the defendants, one of them in absentia, fully guilty under Article 182, Part 2, Subparagraphs “a”, “d” and “b” of Part 3, Subparagraph “b” of Article 182 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (misappropriation of a large amount of money by a group using their official positions by prior agreement), the information says.
