Mikheil Kavelashvili to attend funeral ceremony of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Iran

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, along with leaders of regional countries, including Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia and other countries, will attend the funeral ceremony of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Iran, the presidential administration announced.

The funeral ceremony will be held in Tehran, Qom and Mashhad.

According to the official schedule, the public farewell ceremony will begin at 6:00 a.m. on July 4 at the Imam Khomeini Mausoleum in Tehran and will continue until 8:00 p.m. on July 5. The funeral prayer will be held on the morning of July 5. After ceremonies in Tehran, Qom and Iraq, the late leader will be buried in the city of Mashhad on Thursday, July 9.
