We demand the removal of the corruption surcharge from the prices of fuel, electricity and food products - Lasha Parulava
One of the leaders of the United National Movement, Lasha Parulava, stated at a briefing that the Georgian Dream promised the population a reduction in high prices, however, according to him, in reality prices are increasing, while the population is getting poorer.
According to Parulava, the system created in the country only benefits oligopolies and the privileged groups of the Georgian Dream, for which he holds the responsibility for it on the honorary chairman of the ruling team, Bidzina Ivanishvili.
According to him, the “systemic robbery” of citizens is taking place through three main mechanisms: through the “fuel mafia”, the “corruption of the Bidzina Ivanishvili clan” in energy, and the “banking oligarchy”.
“I want to tell the public about the three mechanisms by which our fellow citizens are systematically robbed: this is the fuel mafia, the corruption of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s “clan” in energy, and, of course, the banking oligarchy, which is getting rich at the expense of the Georgian people. Their profits are growing, but the income of the Georgian people, the economic wealth of the Georgian people, is not growing. Only the salaries of the “Georgian Dream” officials in the country are growing,” said Parulava.
According to him, 400 thousand children in the country are starving and the same number of children are dependent on social assistance.
Parulava called on the government to remove, according to his assessment, “86% corruption surcharge” from the prices of fuel, electricity, and food products.
According to him, the United National Movement also demands halving the excise tax on fuel and returning it to the 2012 level, reducing the electricity tariff, which he said was increased by 33%, and declaring a moratorium, "ending the banking oligarchy," and actually implementing the rural program.
