Citizen of the Republic of Egypt arrested in Tbilisi on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of narcotics

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, officers of the Police Department of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia have arrested a citizen of the Republic of Egypt in Tbilisi on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of narcotics in a particularly large amount.

According to the agency, as a result of a search of the defendant's personal belongings and backpack, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large amount of the narcotic drug "marijuana" - 4 kilograms - as evidence.

"As a result of the investigative actions, law enforcement officers also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotics. The investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment," the information states.
