Iran says it struck US airbase in Jordan

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Tuesday that Iranian ballistic missiles struck a US airbase in Jordan, the Iranian Fars News Agency reported.

In a statement, also cited by Reuters, the IRGC called on Jordanians to dismantle US military bases in the country.

The IRGC statement said:

"You know very well that we have no enmity with your country. On the contrary, we love you - a dignified people who understand the pain and oppression of the Palestinian people better than any other nation."

Jordan is home to several US military installations and air bases. On Monday, Tehran claimed to have struck the Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan in retaliation, but Jordanian authorities denied the report.
