Let's not be ashamed of ourselves in front of the world, and let's not make everyone think that we are barbarians - Nika Gvaramia
The pearl of the latest period of world architecture is the so-called Rike Docks. If some "private owner" demolishes a building worth 75 million, why build something more expensive, - one of the leaders of the "Opposition Alliance", Nika Gvaramia, wrote about this on social networks.
According to him, the so-called Rike Docks are a project of the prominent architect, Massimiliano Fuksas.
“The pearl of the latest period of world architecture is the so-called Rike Docks. It cost 75 million GEL to build and is a project of the prominent architect Massimiliano Fuksas. When some “private owner” demolishes a building worth 75 million, which is also considered an achievement of world architecture by various influential architectural publications, what more valuable thing is he building? Or by what right does he demolish it? We are a society living with decisions dictated by the taste and personal hatred of Ivanishvili, this little Herostratus. And if we are not, we must not allow this barbarism!
We still have time not to give Fuksas’s outstanding creation the opportunity to be demolished! Let’s not damage the capital! Let's not be ashamed of ourselves in front of the world, and let's not make everyone think that we are barbarians,” writes Gvaramia.
For information, the so-called docks located in Rike Park in Tbilisi are planned to be dismantled. As the mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, stated, the decision to dismantle the so-called Rike docks was made by the owner company, and the City Hall's Architecture Department issued the permit after all requirements were met.
