Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada extends martial law and mobilization until the end of October
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved bills initiated by President Volodymyr Zelensky that extend the duration of martial law and general mobilization in the country until October 31, 2026.
The draft law on the extension of martial law (No. 15401), which provides for the approval of the relevant decree of the President of Ukraine, was supported by 313 deputies.
The draft law on the extension of the period of general mobilization (No. 15402) was approved by 311 deputies.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the Verkhovna Rada with an initiative to extend martial law and general mobilization for another 90 days, from August 2 to October 31, 2026.
This is the twentieth time that the Ukrainian parliament has supported the extension of martial law and mobilization since the start of Russia's full-scale military aggression.
