According to a rough estimate, there were approximately 20,000 illegal migrants in Georgia as of last year, and to deal with this problem, we have begun to actively plan processes, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.

As Irakli Kobakhidze noted, the Migration Department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been strengthened.

"Over the past 12 months, we have managed to expel more illegal migrants from Georgia than in the past 10 years. This year's plan is even more ambitious, this year at least 4,000 illegal migrants are planned to be expelled from our country, which will ultimately allow us to completely rid the country of this problem in a few years, somewhere in four years, which is a very important task, naturally, for Georgia," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
