The European media is closed to alternative opinion, the situation in terms of the media is extremely difficult, let's hope that at some point everyone in Europe will wake up and ultimately a sovereign decision will be ensured - Irakli Kobakhidze
The situation in terms of the media is extremely difficult, in fact, the European media is closed to alternative opinion, this situation is also present in the media outlets of specific countries, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated this on the air of "Imedi LIVE".
According to him, all space for discussions in the European media is absolutely blocked.
“I remember when I was studying in Germany from 2002 to 2006, I used to watch German television and there was absolutely open discussion on all topics. Now you can turn on the same talk shows, often with the same hosts, and there is absolutely no space for discussion. In other words, this is what the media space has finally come to across Europe, and this is one of the main reasons why the awakening is delayed. Otherwise, the time for awakening has always been.
This 30% did not drop to 17.5% in one year. There were several drops: the first was after 2008, the second was after 2013, the third – now after the start of the second war in Ukraine. This did not happen all at once. But in reality there is no space for discussion.
Let us hope that this space will also open up. This is, of course, general optimism, but based on the fact that at some point "Someone needs to wake up, this is what happens in general, historical development has its stages in any space, let's hope that at some stage, at some level, everyone in Europe will wake up and ultimately sovereign decision-making will be ensured," the Prime Minister noted.
