The United States has concluded a series of weekend strikes against Iran
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said on July 19 that the ninth consecutive night of airstrikes against Iran had been successfully completed.
CENTCOM said the strikes targeted Iranian military command centers, air defense and coastal surveillance facilities, naval capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and communications networks.
According to the US Central Command, the strikes were aimed at further degrading Iran’s capabilities to prevent it from attacking commercial vessels and civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM said that US forces are acting under the direction of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and hold Iran accountable for its actions.
"CENTCOM forces remain on high alert, operating purposefully, effectively, and ready to perform any task," the statement said.
