Tbilisi-Shanghai flight will have a very positive impact on strengthening Georgia's economy and tourism sector - Mariam Kvrivishvili
"The decision to launch a direct flight between Tbilisi and Shanghai and this achieved result will have a very positive impact on strengthening our country's economy," said Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, in a report aired on the Imedis Vedaggi program.
The Minister of Economy emphasized that regular flights between Tbilisi and Shanghai will have a particularly positive impact on strengthening Georgia's tourism sector.
A historic, direct regular flight between Tbilisi and Shanghai was operated by China Eastern Airlines, one of the largest and leading airlines in China, on July 15. The airline will operate direct flights three times a week: on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
As Mariam Kvrivishvili noted, leading Chinese media visited Georgia on the first direct Tbilisi-Shanghai flight, who will get acquainted with the country's tourism potential. "They will travel to Georgia, accordingly, they will make stories, write articles, which, of course, will help promote our country in China," said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
