Two foreign citizens arrested on drug charges

Officers of the Tbilisi Police Department's Gldani-Nadzaladevi Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested two foreign citizens on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of a particularly large amount of narcotics. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

According to the department, the investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.

"As a result of a search of the personal and temporary residential apartment of the defendants in Tbilisi, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large amount of narcotics as evidence, including 331 packages of the narcotic drug "marijuana" packaged for sale."

"Law enforcement officers also seized materials needed for packaging narcotics," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
