Russia is trying to provoke strategic partners by using Georgian territory - Grigol Gegelia

According to Grigol Gegelia, Foreign Secretary of "Lelo - Strong Georgia", the information disseminated by Der Spiegel, according to which a Russian missile was moving from the direction of occupied Abkhazia towards Turkish airspace, indicates another provocation from Russia.

According to Gegelia, Russia is constantly trying to create instability and crisis in the region and continues this policy both towards neighboring states and Georgia.

According to him, the Georgian government does not have an effective foreign policy towards de-occupation and no significant steps have been taken in this regard during the term of the "Georgian Dream" government.

“Russia is trying to use Georgia’s sovereign territory to provoke our strategic partners and the political-military project, which is our constitutional and national goal to join. This is a continuation of Russia’s harmful policy, but the main problem is that the de facto regime that currently rules the country does not protect Georgia’s state interests,” Gegelia said.

According to Der Spiegel, a few hours before the opening of the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey declared an alert due to a possible air attack after an object was detected moving towards its airspace. According to the publication, it was later determined that the object was a Russian “surface-to-air” missile, which was moving from Georgia, namely from the direction of occupied Abkhazia, towards Turkish airspace. Due to the current threat, the German Bundeswehr's Patriot air defense battery located in the Malatya province has been placed on full combat alert.
