Commemoration of the Hieromartyr Athenogenes and his ten disciples (c. 311); Martyrs: Paul and his two sisters - Elefthina (Valentina) and Chionia (308); Martyr Antiochus the Healer (IV); Martyr Julia the Virgin (IV).

The Holy Hieromartyr Athenogenes and his ten disciples died for Christ during the persecution of Christians in the city of Sebastia.

The Holy Martyrs Paul, Alefthina and Chionia were Egyptians. During the persecution of Christians initiated by Emperor Maximian, they were taken to Caesarea in Palestine. Before the ruler, they fearlessly confessed the law of Christ. Aleptina and Chionia were burned at the stake, and Paul was beheaded.

The holy virgin martyr Julia was born in Carthage, into a Christian family. As a child, she was captured by the Persians. She was taken to Syria and sold into slavery. A faithful follower of Christian commandments, Julia served her master with devotion, kept a clean slate, fasted, and prayed a lot. Her pagan master could not win her over. Then Julia fearlessly confessed her Christianity, and the pagans crucified her.

The angels of the Lord reported this news to the monks of a nearby monastery. The monks buried the body of the saint in the church of their monastery.
