    Commemoration of our venerable father, the monk Kosman the Scribe, killed by the Persians in the mountains of the mountains (1630); Martyr Emelian (363) and Hyacinthe of Amastrides (IV); Venerable Pamvas of the Desert (IV)

    The holy martyr Emelian died for Christ in 363. Later, a church was built in his honor in Constantinople, where his holy relics were also transferred.

    The holy martyr Hyacinthe was born in the city of Amastrides, into a pious Christian family. He was named by an angel who appeared to him. Hyacinthe was three years old when he asked God to resurrect a dead child, and the Lord heard his prayer. Later, they grew up together and, when they grew up, worked together. Saint Hyacinth was martyred.
