Our goal is to complete the first phase of work by 2029 and for the Anaklia Deepwater Port to receive the first ships, we are moving in the right direction, the work has been accelerated as much as possible, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.

As the head of government noted, there is a great deal of interest in the Anaklia Port, including among Georgia's partners.

"These include Central Asian countries, our neighboring countries, Middle Eastern countries, and also European companies, European countries, therefore, this port has very great prospects. Our goal is to complete the first phase as soon as possible. Our task is to complete the first phase of work by 2029 and the Anaklia deep-water port will receive the first ships, and we are moving in the right direction. The work has been accelerated as much as possible. We had some delays due to the contract being revised and the contract value was reduced by approximately $50 million, for which I would like to thank the Ministry of Economy and the Minister of Economy personally. Now the work is continuing smoothly, which allows us to make an optimistic statement that the port will receive the first ships by 2029 and the interests of many countries will be represented in this port," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
