Georgian and Spanish law enforcement officers arrested members of a Georgian organized crime group in the city of Valencia

As a result of intensive investigative actions in the city of Valencia, Georgian and Spanish law enforcement officers arrested three Georgian citizens, members of an organized crime group, and police measures are actively continuing to arrest the fourth member.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Georgian police attaché participated in the special operation along with Spanish colleagues.

“The detainees are accused of burglary, money laundering and membership in an organized criminal group.

The investigation established that the defendants systematically robbed residential apartments in Spain. According to a pre-developed plan, they chose houses where the owners were not present, illegally entered using special tools and took possession of expensive items and money.

As a result of searches of the detainees’ personal belongings, cars and temporary residences by law enforcement officers, stolen items, a large amount of money and special tools necessary for committing the crime were seized.

The relevant legal measures prescribed by law are being taken against the detainees.
