Two citizens of the People's Republic of China arrested on charges of theft
Officers of the Isani-Samgori Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have arrested two citizens of the People's Republic of China on charges of theft.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation revealed that the defendants illegally took $7,800 and €4,450 belonging to two passengers on board a plane while traveling on one of the flights.
"As a result of hot pursuit and investigative actions, law enforcement officers quickly identified the perpetrators of the crime and arrested them as suspects on the airport premises. Law enforcement officers seized the stolen money as evidence. The investigation is ongoing under Part Four of Article 177 of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years," the MIA said in a statement.
