    The eve of the Presentation of the Holy Cross. Venerable Arsenius, Bishop of Nino (1082); Righteous Eudokim of Cappadocia (IX); Martyr Ivlitas (304-305).

    Fasting of the Assumption of Mary.

    Righteous Eudokim of Cappadocia lived during the reign of Emperor Theophilos, who ruled the people in a truly Christian way, caring for the poor and the sick, widows and orphans. The Lord called Eudokim to Himself at the age of 33. The saint was buried in the Church of the Most Holy Theotokos, built by his parents in Constantinople.

    The Holy Martyr Ivlita lived in Caesarea in Cappadocia during the reign of Diocletian. She was asked to renounce Christ, and when the saint refused this offer, she was burned at the stake.
