Police seize large quantity of drugs in Tbilisi - one person arrested

Officers of the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have arrested one person on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of a large quantity of narcotics.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, law enforcement officers seized a large quantity of the narcotic drug "Methadone" as evidence during a search of the defendant's residence.

"The police also seized materials necessary for packaging drugs. The investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which provides for up to 20 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
