    Martyr Euselin (362); Martyr Pontius of Rome (257); Saint Nonna, mother of Gregory the Theologian (374).

    The Holy Martyr Euselin was born in Antioch in the middle of the 3rd century. He was a companion of Saint Basil and a chronicler of his martyrdom. By order of Emperor Julian, the 110-year-old saint was beheaded.

    The Holy Martyr Pontius lived in the 3rd century. Pontius was twenty years old when Pope Pontian baptized him and his family. After the death of his father, Emperor Alexander Severus appointed him a senator. Saint Pontius was highly respected by everyone at the emperor's court. During the reign of Emperor Maximilian, Saint Pontius ended his life as a martyr.

    Saint Nonna, the mother of Gregory the Theologian, was raised in the Christian faith. Her husband, Gregory of Arian, was an idolater. The pious Nonna prayed a lot so that her husband would convert to the true faith. Saint Nonna died in the temple on August 18, 374, while praying.
