As the embassy writes, on August 20, 1977, NASA launched the Voyager 2 spacecraft from the Cape Canaveral Space Center in Florida, which took a “golden record” into deep space.

“This record was a kind of message from Earth, in case it was ever discovered by another civilization. With the music, photos, and words of welcome recorded on it, the finder would be able to understand what the world from which this ship was launched was like. The Georgian “Chakrulo” was among the specimens selected by a group of Americans. "This is how the unique Georgian polyphony became part of the common message of humanity," the US Embassy said in a statement.
