Commemoration of the Holy Prophet Micah - one of the Minor Prophets. The saint is the sixth among the 12 Minor Prophets. He was a son of the tribe of Judah. Micah was born in the city of Morasphi, located south of Jerusalem, which is why he was called Morasphi. The saint began his prophetic activity before the birth of Christ, in 778 AD. He predicted the destruction of the Kingdom of Israel and the disasters that would follow the invasion of Judea by the Assyrian king Sennacherib. He is also credited with the prophecy of the birth of the Savior of the world - the Savior. His holy relics were discovered in Baratsatsia in the 4th century AD as a result of the revelation of the Bishop of Eleftherios Zebinus of Eleftherios.
Commemoration of the Hieromartyr Markel, Bishop of Apamea. He was born on the island of Cyprus. He received a good education. Everyone was amazed by his intelligence, modesty, humility, kindness and golden promise. In 375, he left his wife and children and began the life of a desert monk in Syria. The high priest fought tirelessly against paganism. The pagans captured the saint in 389 and threw him into the fire.
