The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, awarded the Order of the Golden Fleece to the former Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Georgia, Zhou Qian, for his personal contribution and fruitful work in deepening bilateral relations between Georgia and China. The information was released by the Administration of the President of Georgia.

According to them, due to Zhou Qian's absence in Georgia, the state award was received by the Acting Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Tai Chunyung, at the Presidential Palace.

"The President of Georgia drew attention to the significant development of relations between Georgia and China during Zhou Qian's diplomatic mission. Mikheil Kavelashvili emphasized the importance of deepening relations with the People's Republic of China and expressed hope that the solid foundation created in recent years will continue to contribute to the strengthening of partnership between the two countries in the future," the information states.
