Based on public statements made in the case of Lazare Jorbenadze, several persons will be questioned, including Irakli Gharibashvili - Prosecutor's Office
A number of investigative and procedural actions have been carried out within the framework of the ongoing investigation into the suicide of Lazare Jorbenadze on April 4, 2026, at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, - the statement of the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia states.
According to the agency, persons related to the deceased have been questioned in the case, including the deceased's family members and spouse, based on which, at this stage, the fact of suicide has been unequivocally confirmed.
“Despite the above, based on the public statements made by the convicted Irakli Gharibashvili and other persons, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office, the following persons will be questioned within the framework of the ongoing investigation at the Ministry of Internal Affairs: Nika Gvaramia; Irma Inashvili; Nanuka Zhorzholiani; Khatia Dekanoidze; Tazo Datunashvili; Gia Khukhashvili; Giorgi Liluashvili; Zaza Davitaia; Ermile Nemsadze; Giorgi Gigauri.
Irakli Gharibashvili will also be questioned in the aforementioned criminal case.
Given the high public interest, if any new circumstances become known regarding the results of the interrogation of the aforementioned persons in connection with the suicide of Lazare Jorbenadze, we will provide the public with additional information,” the Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
