24 packages of drugs prepared for sale seized in Batumi, foreign citizen detained

Officers of the Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have detained a foreign citizen on charges of illegal purchase, storage and sale of a particularly large amount of narcotics.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during a search of the personal and temporary residence of the accused in Batumi, law enforcement officers seized 24 packages of the narcotic drug "Methadone" prepared for sale as evidence.

The police also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotics.

The investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
