Commemoration of the Holy Martyrs: Adrian and Natalia and 23 martyrs with them.

The Holy Martyrs Adrian and Natalia were married a year before their Passion, still young. They lived in Bethany Nicomedia during the reign of Emperor Maximian. They devoted themselves to Christianity.

Born:

1157 — Richard I the Lionheart, King of England. Died in 1199.

1474 — Ludovico Ariosto, Italian poet, the greatest representative of the Renaissance, he spent most of his life at the court of the palace of Ferrara. He wrote satires in imitation of Horace. His comedies are: "The Conjurer", "The Matchmaker", poem: "Orlando the Wise". He died in Ferrara in 1533.

1804 - Eduard Moric, German poet. Died in 1875.

1812 - Natalia Goncharova, Pushkin's wife. Died in 1863.

1909 _ Venera Urushadze, English translator of ``The Rider in the Panther's Skin''. Died in 1989.

1925 - Otar Chelidze, poet. Died in 1998.
