    Georgia’s external merchandise trade turnover increased by 8.3 percent – ​​Geostat

    According to preliminary data from the National Statistics Office, Georgia’s external merchandise trade turnover (excluding undeclared trade) amounted to USD 17,915.6 million in January–August 2026, an increase of 8.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

    Of this total, Geostat reports that exports stood at USD 5,422.6 million (a 22.1 percent increase), while imports amounted to USD 12,493.0 million (a 3.3 percent increase).

    The negative trade balance for January–August 2026 stood at USD 7,070.5 million, representing 39.5 percent of the total external trade turnover.
