Gela Geladze has stepped down as Head of the State Security Service

Gela Geladze, Head of the State Security Service, has resigned from his post. He announced the decision himself on social media. "I have decided to step down as Head of the State Security Service of Georgia. Following consultations with the political team, I will continue my work in another agency, where I will remain fully committed to serving the interests of our country and society.

Serving as Head of the State Security Service has been a tremendous responsibility and an opportunity to serve my country. Throughout this period, working alongside every employee of the Service, our efforts have been focused on effectively overcoming challenges facing the state, strengthening Georgia’s security, and protecting national interests.

I would like to extend my special gratitude to every employee of the State Security Service for their professionalism, dedication, and the vital work they carry out daily to ensure our country's security.

I thank the political team—particularly the Party’s Honorary Chairman, Bidzina Ivanishvili, and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze—for the trust they have placed in me.
