Irakli Kobakhidze Nominates Tamaz Borashvili as Head of State Security Service

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has nominated Tamaz Borashvili for the position of Head of the State Security Service.

Kobakhidze made the announcement during a briefing held at the Government Administration.

Until now, Tamaz Borashvili has served as Deputy Head of the State Security Service.

It should be noted that Parliament must confirm Tamaz Borashvili’s appointment as Head of the State Security Service.

Notably, the Head of the State Security Service, Gela Geladze, recently announced his resignation himself via social media.
