"We are not imposing any bilateral sanctions on Iran—that would be absurd and wrong; we are acting in accordance with the established sanctions regime," stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in response to a question regarding the suspension of flights by Iranian airlines to Georgia.

As the head of government noted, Georgia is acting in compliance with the established sanctions regime. "As you know, we observe sanctions regimes. Relevant sanctions were implemented, and given that Georgia always adheres to sanctions regimes—respecting measures imposed by specific institutions and states against various countries—we also made the appropriate decision, regarding which the Ministry of Economy issued a statement. We observe the sanctions regime. We act in accordance with the established sanctions regime. We are not imposing any bilateral sanctions on Iran; that would be absurd and wrong. We are acting in accordance with the established sanctions regime," stated Irakli Kobakhidze.
