The Prosecutor's Office has arrested one individual for violating the privacy of personal life

The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia released information regarding the arrest.

"An investigation conducted by the Tbilisi Prosecutor's Office's division dedicated to combating privacy violations established that the accused used a social network to illegally obtain and store video footage revealing the private life of a minor victim. By threatening to disseminate the footage during a video call, the accused demanded that the victim expose their naked body.

The arrested individual is being charged under Article 157-1, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (illegal acquisition, storage, and use of private life information), an offense punishable by up to seven years in prison.

The Prosecutor's Office will petition the court within the statutory timeframe to impose imprisonment as a preventive measure against the accused," the statement reads.
