    The State Audit Office has launched an inquiry into the funding of the "Tbilisi School of Political Studies"

    The Financial Transparency Department of the State Audit Office has initiated monitoring regarding the alleged receipt of a grant by the non-entrepreneurial (non-commercial) legal entity "Union – Tbilisi School of Political Studies" without the consent of the Government of Georgia.

    The State Audit Office announced this development.

    They further stated that, in order to conduct a comprehensive review of the matter, the State Audit Office will act within the scope of authority granted by Georgian legislation, including the Law of Georgia "On Grants."

    The case concerns reports that an educational seminar was held—organized by Armaz Akhvlediani, head of the "Tbilisi School of Political Studies," and funded by the Council of Europe—which was also attended by Paweł Herczyński. According to available information, the government was not approached regarding this matter, as required by the Law on Grants.
