Signal received from Devdoraki early warning system; evacuation carried out at Dariali border checkpoint; traffic restricted near Gveleti – Ministry of Internal Affairs

A signal was received from the early warning system installed at Devdoraki—which detects changes in the event of even a minimal rise in the water level within the riverbed—according to a statement by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"Based on the information received, and in accordance with established protocols, citizens present at the site, as well as personnel from the patrol police, customs service, border police, and private companies working at the checkpoint, were evacuated to a safe location.

At the same time, as a preventive measure, traffic in both directions has been restricted for all types of vehicles near the village of Gveleti," the agency's statement reads.
